They say the issue won't be solved by arrests alone, but rather finding out if macon is indeed part of a human trafficking ring.

Human trafficking in Macon, some might argue its more of a myth if anything, but some city officials seem to disagree.

Councilman Erick Erickson said, "There is a pattern. It's nation-wide, it's international."

Erickson said the recent police raids of several massage parlors around Macon have all been for some form of prostitution, but since many are misdemeanor charges the suspects are back to work within days.

"The only thing you can do is police raids. Police can only do so much, we need to expand who can do something," he added.e

Which is why Erickson is working with the Mayor's office to put tighter restrictions on how these parlors can operate. Erickson plans to make sure they will be trained and licensed. Read More
