Tex James has a voice dipped in a southern dialect matched with the swag of a man who has seen it all. A native of Macon, GA, a small, cozy city also known as "Mactown", he is a King in his own right. "Macon is my home. It's where I started this music," he says. James was the lead member of Macon’s legendary group and Collipark recording artists The Kadalack Boyz that produced the hits “Hit Tha Flo”, “Never Slippen”, and “Ahh Boom”.
After the success of the Kadalack Boyz, James embarked on his solo career which included writing for other artists, managing a platinum producer, as well as being placed on a major motion picture “crossover”. In 2010, James received an offer to come back to his hometown and host his own weekend self titled show “Tex James Radio” on Macon’s number one hip hop station 97.9 WIBB, which quickly became the number one weekend show in Middle Georgia. In 2011, James wrote the hook and worked along with Mr. Collipark on multi-platinum artist Trina’s pop single “Red Bottoms”.
Tex James has been dubbed the “hometown hero” and has definitely made his supporters proud. He has made it his mission to work on projects that better his community while continuing to make his mark in the music industry. His signature slogan “I Got Em!” certainly rings true in all that he does and this young mogul is without a doubt “Macon History”.
